At the Tate modern I found a picture by Bridge Riley called ‘Fall’ done In 1963, very interesting. It is a black and white picture with a single perpendicular curve that is repeated vertically, this creates a field of varying optical frequencies. The curve is rapidly compressed towards the bottom of the picture, producing a disorienting effect on the eye, making the picture have a depth of field and creating a 3D effect from a flat picture.
